ARTICLE ALERT with commentary from our resident Sports Scientist (courtesy scienceforsport)

Those of you who have (or have had) children training with me, especially those who trained 1:1 with me throughout the most heavily restricted COVID-19 period, should find the following short article very interesting. You will see reference to many of the philosophies that I agree with such as long term, progressive athlete development, dynamic range of motion and stability. This article followed a similar training protocol to the plyometric “speed” sessions we have been undertaking on weekends for the first half of the term. You will also see why we are concentrating on change of direction and agility in the second half of the term.

As many of you know, everything we do at DLF/CSC is backed by science and I have no doubt that if you child has been training with us this year you will have seen huge improvements in the areas mentioned in this article and others, such as strength, speed, agility, balance.

These guys have a great website full of very useful and user friendly resources for you to have a read of. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything you read 😊
